Sparkle Snow Bunny

Sparkle Snow Bunny is my latest pattern that I have been working on, I had the design idea a while ago when I found the lovely felt on the ears and feet but I have been looking for the perfect yarn which I didn't find until recently. She is approx 7 inches when completed. The yarn I used has a Twinkle effect, the felt is covered in glittered stars and sewn on with a metallic thread. I then used gems on the face to give it a little extra sparkle :) The pattern is available from Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sparkle-snow-bunny-amigurumi

Emma Bunny Rabbit

This is my latest design, called Emma Bunny Rabbit. This orginally started out as the Tiny Teddy I started a few weeks ago but I wasn't happy with how it was going so changed it a bit :) The pattern is free to download on Ravelry here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/emma-bunny-rabbit

New Pattern Layouts

Over the last few days I've been working on a new design layout for my patterns, I wanted to be able to make them more easy to read and bit more pleasing to the eye :) All my previous patterns have been updated with this new layout and are now available to download on my Ravelry page: http://www.ravelry.com/designers/deborah-hutchinson

Creative Crafts Show Manchester

I've just got back from the Creative Crafts Show at Manchester Trafford Centre, I've never been to one of these shows before so it was lots of fun seeing all the different things. Sadly there wasn't much knitting or crochet things but still managed to come home with lots of new things for Amigurumi I plan to make. I got lots of new shades of Double Knitting yarn, loads of little gems, fabric, bells and a nice little case for storing some animal eyes I bought just last week from a USA online store.

Tiny Teddy - New Project

I'm currently working on a new pattern, at the moment it's just called Tiny Teddy. I'm trying something a little different than I have done before. Using 2 strands of DMC Stranded Cotton and a 1.5mm Crochet Hook, I wanted to try making something small. This is the result so far, the head only. It's approximately 15mm in height.

First Blog & UFO Pattern

I thought it was about time I tried doing these Blogs to document the Amigurumi crochet I'm designing or making. I've never done one of these before so it's all new to me. I'm 30 years old and I started to Crochet in April 2011 after discovering Amigurumi in a book shop. I instantly fell in love with the small, cute, adorable creatures that could be made! I'd made knitted toys in the past so it wasn't too hard to pick up how to crochet Amigurumi. Just recently I decided I wanted to try making my own patterns, I started off by making up some Angry Bird patterns as I wanted to make them for my nephew. This last week I've been working on a UFO pattern, it opens up at the top and inside is a tiny cute Alien! :) I put this pattern up as a free download over on the Ravelry website here.
